A CNN story yesterday reported that email distractions lower your IQ more than smoking marijuana. The story was based on a survey of 1,100 Brits commissioned by Hewlett Packard.

I’m not sure how to react to that news, but:

  • It could explain why using technology feels so good.
  • It’s possible that this CNN reporter is just looking for an excuse to smoke pot.
  • It might explain why my wife is so much smarter than I am.

And, for the record, I just want to allay your fears and confirm that I don’t monitor CNN’s site. I just stumbled on the article. I still prefer the "fair and balanced" channel.
