Get Your Strategy On
I have to give props to a couple of cool cats who are encouraging me as I jump into this blogging experience.
My first email! — Thanks, Scott Hodge, for your encouraging note. Scott has been transitioning a 75-year-old church in Aurora, IL (home of Wayne’s World?). Pretty impressive that Orchard Valley Community Church has a blog to which that entire staff contributes. Scott also has his own blog which is very cool. I’m jealous, too, because my blog doesn’t have a fancy banner like his. Maybe someday…
Blogging about my blog! — The first person to do that was Jason Powell (Jason is a child of the 80s like me and can probably confirm that Wayne and Garth were from Aurora, IL). In addition to being techno-savvy, Jason knows how to drive cars really fast and he has Stryper in his iTunes library. Scary.
Speaking of Wayne’s World, that reminds me of just about the biggest mistake I’ve ever seen a youth pastor make. A good friend of mine once showed the SNL clip that included the fantasy episode with Madonna. I’m sure it served as a clever theological illustration, but I’m thinking they should probably include "don’t show Madonna video clips to the youth group" in the Youth Pastoring for Dummies book.

Welcome to the blogosphere, Tony!
You know, I had a lot of respect for Jason already, but knowing the tidbit about Stryper, that puts him over the top, in my opinion! ( I guess that means it’s no secret that I, too, am a child of the 80’s)

Don’t forget Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure! I find it interesting that KEANU REEVES acting has not really improved much since then. Oh well, be excellent to each other and party on dudes!

Welcome to the blogospere!
Hint: Scott held a contest to get that nifty banner. You should do the same!

Thanks, Tony, for opening your life up to the world blog-style.
I’ve really appreciated Granger over the past 3-4 years as my wife and I have visited & learned from your progress. (I pastor a church plant in Valparaiso, about 75 minutes west of you.)
Now I look forward to learning even more by reading what you share here! :)
