Box Score for Weekend of May 1

Here’s the "box score" for this past weekend at Granger Community Church.

Music: "You Found Me" by FFH

Message: "Honey, I Shrunk the Gospel" — Dr. Bob Laurent, Teaching Pastor, talked about these three signs of Gospel shrinkage: (1) when we recreate God in our own image, (2) when we start thinking that Christianity is a religion and not a personal relationship with Jesus, and (3) when we start thinking that life is about us.

Service Highlights: This was our first weekend in the new half of the auditorium. It was a very raw experience. We’re still under construction, so the room has no carpet, no acoustical treatments, temporary sound and video, etc. We’re in the middle of a great adventure over these next several weeks while the construction crews finish up the auditorium.

Stats: 5,121 total attendance (3,986 adults + 1,135 kids); 19.0% increase from the same weekend last year

Percentage of weekend attendance by service:

  1. Sun 10:15 am = 30%
  2. Sat 5:30 pm = 21%
  3. Sat 7:30 pm = 17%
  4. Sun 8:45 am = 17%
  5. Sun 11:45 am = 16%

Final Notes: Next weekend we launch a new series called "Stomp Out Loud." The series is designed to help replace the noisy messages that shout "your life doesn’t count" and offer people hope in Jesus so they can hear "You matter to us and to God."
