They are tons of work, nobody likes them, and they do little to differentiate rock stars from hacks. And there is no evidence that they improve performance. All the research I have seen clearly says scrap the whole process, but it&#039;s so ingrained in most companies that they can&#039;t even consider that there might be a better way to run a company.
