Some pretty good tips, however; alot of your comments are a matter of opinion. What may make one person visit a church may on the otherhand prevent someone eles from coming. Besides a website should not become onesize fits all.

Every church is unique and church have to put up affordabe sites according to the budget of the ministry. Every chuch is not a some called MEGA church. Our main goal should be to win the lost for Christ.

Sometimes all of this glitzs and glamour becomes a hinderance instead of a help. If Jesus be lifted up he will draw all men to him. No matter what the site looks like if Jesus is the center of the action then people will come no matter what.

Again, good tips, but what works for one may not work for all. Have a great day.

I want to see a picture of the pastor on the website because if he's a hundred years old or anywhere near it, I'm not attending. I love old people but not old pastors. They tend to be super old-school. In a bad, everyone should "dress thier Sunday best" way.

I very very strongly dislike stock photography. Those people aren't members of your church. I want to see actual attenders in actual settings- not smiling happy people holding hands in the grass. It turns me off in a big way. FAKE FAKE FAKE is all I can think.

And yes, please, somewhere list your ministries and small groups. If people withing my life status are not meeting together at your church or outside of it, I don't want to go.

Otherwise, I pretty much agree. It's super frustrating to not be able to easily find service times or other happenings at a church on thier website.

I was forwarded your blog entry and found it super-helpful. Currently our Church uses a standard template and it is challenging to "fine tune" it to look the way we want while following the designer's template.

I found a great site www.fudamentalweb.org that does great design work, but is a bit over my price range right now.

Most of us Pastors are NOT web design gurus nor are we able to afford a high quality web designer to do the job without costing an "arm and a leg." Does anyone have any ideas on this subject so our websites don't push people away?

Also, does anyone mention printed media and it's format and presentation? Any ideas, links, send them my way.
