Canyon Ridge Christian Church

This week I celebrated my anniversary. Emily and I have been married for 14 years now. We actually dated for about six years before that. (I don’t recommend that for anyone.) Em and I were high school sweethearts. Yes, that means we were both Piquads.

Since marriage was on my mind this week, I decided to find a cool church somewhere in the country that was talking about that very topic. And, wouldn’t you know it, I ended up finding just such a church in Las Vegas, Nevada–the place where there must be more wedding chapels per capita than any other place in the world.

Csi_1 Canyon Ridge Christian Church is launching a series based on the TV show CSI this weekend. Their very first message will take a look at the DNA of a great marriage. I love it when a church takes a topic that’s relevant to people’s lives, packages it with a theme that’s hot in today’s culture, and uses that opportunity to teach biblical truth to help people take their next step toward Christ. In fact, that’s a great formula for encouraging life transformation.

Relevant Topic + Strategic Theme + Biblical Truth = Life Transformation Potential

Fourteen years ago I was ready to elope to Las Vegas so I could start the rest of my life with Emily. We elected the more traditional church wedding to launch our marriage. I’m glad there are churches like Canyon Ridge, though, who are willing to use non-traditional approaches to help people build strong marriages.

Now, do you want to hear the highlights of our honeymoon?

in a word, yes. Obviously not *all* of the details of your honeymoon, but where you went and for how long and the fun stuff you did outside your room.

You’re assuming we left our room?

    Hey Tony,

I worked at Canyon Ridge as an AV Mananger and Web Developer for about 7 months earlier this year. You see it from the outside, but actually being there and working there was such a huge blessing and made a huge impact on my life. Canyon Ridge is one of those churches with “excellence” as it’s middle name. It was a great experience.
