Are You Attracting the Very Best Talent to Your Team?

As promised, here’s my latest article on staffing. Are you attracting the very best talent to your team?

By the way, my only reason for shopping at The Buckle is because I’m trying to keep up with the fashion trends of Ed Young. Now you know my life goal: Follow Jesus…and look better in jeans than Ed Young.

Thanks, Tony, for an easy-to-understand way of looking at recruitment. Veering from topic, one thought that probably comes from my Biblical ignorance (and this is a general question, not specific to you, Granger, or any other church that may provide me a paycheck): What makes church leaders feel it’s ok to think and plan as if “50 hours or more each week” and “limited financial resources for staff” are acceptable and/or normal? This kind of thinking, I fear, leads to pressures and situations that are not God-focused and even counterproductive to my (our) growth as leaders, ministers, husbands, fathers, friends, etc. The task too easily becomes the main thing. So how do YOU fight that “do more with less” pressure? When can we stop and say “God has given me the picture, but He hasn’t yet given the resources.”?
