Granger Community Church
I know I’m breaking all blogging protocol by doing this, but sometimes you just gotta’ do what you gotta’ do. I don’t want you to think this is because I didn’t do my homework. I went through the motions last night trying to find a cool church to feature this week. But my heart just wasn’t in it. The reason: I think Granger Community Church is the only place in the country I could ever think of visiting this weekend.
Here’s what’s happening this weekend at Granger:
- We’re opening our expanded auditorium.
- We’re opening our new children’s center rooms.
- We’re launching a new series based on the upcoming Spielberg movie War of the Worlds. This weekend Mark Beeson will be hitting "Winning the War for Trust." You can catch the trailer at GCCwired.com.
- I’m hearing rumors of amazing arts elements to set up the message–something about a big meteor and lots of aliens. I have no idea what that means, but I can’t wait to experience it.
In other words, if I wasn’t attending Granger Community Church this weekend, I’d probably be very, very sad. I would become emotionally distraught. Among other things, it’s highly possible that I would start crying like a baby. Then people I know would feel compelled to console me. Some would even try to hug me.
I don’t like it when other people touch me. And that’s why Granger Community Church is my cool church of the week.
