Box Score for Weekend of July 9/10
Here’s the "box score" for this past weekend at Granger Community Church.
Music: "Spin" by Lifehouse
Message: "Winning the War for Life" — Lori Salierno, CEO of Celebrate Life International, addressed gluttony and sloth in the final message of this series on the "seven deadly sins."
Service Highlights: The highlight of the live experience during this weekend’s service was a drama taking a rather comical look at how we treat our bodies. Let’s just say it left some "food for thought" leading into Lori’s message.
Stats: 4,580 total attendance (3,634 adults + 946 kids); 4.8% decrease from the same weekend last year
Percentage of weekend attendance by service:
- Sun 10:15 am = 27%
- Sat 5:30 pm = 22%
- Sat 7:30 pm = 18%
- Sun 8:45 am = 17%
- Sun 11:45 am = 16%
Final Notes: The comparable weekend last year was the launch of a series that played off of the release of the newest Spider-Man movie last summer. The series, A Hero Revealed, was one of the biggest series we’ve ever done at Granger. It’s not surprising, with that in mind, that the attendance for this last weekend was lower than the opening weekend of last summer’s series. In fact, it’s pretty common for attendance to tail off toward the end of a series. That’s one reason why we stopped doing series that were more than 5 or 6 weeks long.

Last year this week ALSO marked my first time on stage… as none other than SPIDERMAN!!! that was the biggest honor ever, and SOOO much fun! Only at GCC could i get to wear a lycra full body suit, look ridiculously sexy, AND have God use it to bring people to Him!!
i love my church.
Kyle, just so you know, your perception of yourself in the Spiderman costume is far different than the perception others of us have. I’m grateful, however, that it was you and not me in the lycra body suit.
That aside, I agree with your assessment. We both serve Jesus at a great church.
