Charlie Hall opened session three by leading us in a time of worship. "Christ be the center of my life." That’s my prayer. That’s my praise. That’s my passion. That’s what motivates me in ministry. That’s why we’re gathered here today.

After worship, Bob Laurent, Granger’s teaching pastor, shared a simple message. Not a common "church conference" message. Just this reminder: You will not go deeper than the love of Christ. It’s all about Jesus. That’s what we do at Granger. It’s all about Jesus.

So, the question is this: How do we help someone look at Jesus and the cross and say, "Remember me."

Bob turned to us and our role as leaders. He talked about our witness to a watching world. He refered us to II Timothy 2:23-35. Bob said there is a wideness to God’s mercy. As leaders, do we treat other Christ-followers in a way that reflects God’s mercy? Does our ministry reflect God’s mercy? And, are you living by the law? Or, are you open to living your life empowered by the Spirit of a living God? If someone on the outside looked at your church, what would they say about your leadership?

The question is this–what are we teaching our people? Are we teaching them the lordship of Jesus Christ and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit? If so, are you helping people grow a heart, or are you helping them win an argument? Are you teaching people to listen, or are you teaching them to speak? (Jame 1:19)

We need to listen. We need to love people. We need to have a passion for people. Does your church have a passion for people?
