Several of the management team leaders shared some of their learnings from the last 12 months, and then Mark Beeson shared his learnings…

  • Expect the unexpected. You’re never ready for the unexpected, but you better expect the unexpected. You can plan. You should plan. But, you can’t plan for everything.
  • Hurts hurt. Wounds are real. Your capacity will be diminished by your wounds. You must find opportunities for renewal, or your wounds will disable you.
  • Your "set point" is set. There may even be a spiritual set point. If you’re going to change your spiritual set point, you’ll have to change some things in your life. It’s more than just spiritual disciplines. You’ll have to change personal habits. You’ll need to create more time in your schedules. You’ll have to change the velocity of your life.

You can try to keep everything going, but at what cost? If you don’t take care of your relationships, you will lose them. And, with that in mind, you better also sort out which relationships God wants you to keep.

We all underestimate the impact of our lives. Who knows what God might do if we get priorities square? More is at stake than you realize. We need to sprint. Rest. Sprint. Rest. Sprint. Rest. We need to keep margins in our lives.
