Here’s the "box score" for this past weekend at Granger Community Church.

Music: "Easier to Run" by Linkin Park

Message: "Lost and Afraid" — Rob Wegner, Pastor of Life Development, addressed the topic of fear. Rob explained how fear is designed to be a self-correcting response. We fight fear with fear–the fear of the Lord. Here are some of the Bible verses Rob used in this weekend’s message to teach both of these points.

Lost_458Service Highlights: The service included a video drama that showed the characters on the island dealing with fear. That was the prelude to Rob’s message which focused on what God’s Word has to say about how we respond to fear in our lives.

Stats: 4,925 total attendance (3,789 adults + 1,136 kids); 6.9% increase from the same weekend last year

Percentage of weekend attendance by service:

  1. Sun 10:15 am = 30%
  2. Sat 5:30 pm = 20%
  3. Sun 11:45 am = 19%
  4. Sun 8:45 am = 16%
  5. Sat 7:30 pm = 15%

Final Notes: In addition to the people who experienced the services on campus this weekend, we also had 300 men who watched the service at our annual men’s retreat. And, there were a few of us who had the opportunity to watch the service live from our laptops in a hotel room in Atlanta. That was pretty cool, and I hope we can offer that to others sometime down the road.
