I’ve gone as long as I can without acknowledging what God is doing down in Anderson, SC. The question I think you have to ask is this: What’s a big church doing in such a relatively small town? Something must be cooking.
My good friend, Perry Noble, is the senior pastor at NewSpring Church. This is one of those ministries that’s on the fast track. Their very first service was less than six years ago, and NewSpring is already running over 4,000 in attendance. And, the amazing story is that Anderson is in a metropolitan area, if you can call it that, that only has about 170,000 people. There’s something happening there.
This weekend, NewSpring is jumping into a new series that really has Perry excited. He’s been talking about it for weeks. The series, Hitch, will be taking a look at what the Bible has to say about being single and the dating scene. This weekend, if I wasn’t attending the launch of our new series at Granger Community Church, I’d hitch a ride down to Anderson, SC to check out NewSpring Church. That makes NewSpring my "Cool Church of the Week."
