Box Score for Weekend of October 29/30

Here’s the "box score" for this past weekend at Granger Community Church.

Music: "We Can Work it Out" by the Beatles

Message: "The Challenge of Parenting & Communication" — Mark Beeson, Senior Pastor, addressed five truths all children need: 1) you matter; 2) you are loved; 3) you must choose your friends wisely because your friends shape your life; 4) you must work hard for a fulfilled life; and 5) you must remember your steps take you somewhere.

Family_channel_webService Highlights: Each of these services in this series is themed around a different television family in a different decade. This week we traveled back in time to the 60s and visited the Cleavers. The opening drama featured the entire Cleaver family in black in white. Literally. The actors wore black and white costumes and makeup and all the props were as well, so it looked like we were watching an old Leave It to Beaver episode live on our stage. Ward and June were dealing with communications problems with Wally and the Beave, who were spending too much time with their cellphones and their iPods. It was a fun convergence of the 60s and today.

Stats: 5,289 total attendance (4,126 adults + 1,163 kids); 17.8% increase from the same weekend last year

Percentage of weekend attendance by service:

  1. Sun 10:15 am = 28%
  2. Sun 11:45 am = 21%
  3. Sat 5:30 pm = 18%
  4. Sun 8:45 am = 18%
  5. Sat 7:30 pm = 16%

Final Notes: This series, The Family Channel, is focused on teaching what the Bible has to say about parenting. We have a number of other message resources on parenting and marriage available at WiredChurches.com.
