Get Your Strategy On
Here’s the "box score" for this past weekend at Granger Community Church.
Music: "Everybody’s Fool" by Evanescence; "Gravity" by Shawn McDonald
Message: "The Language of Lust" — Rob Wegner, Pastor of Life Development, addressed the topic of lust in this weekend’s message. He talked about the fact that lust is reductionary and always wants more. To counteract lust, Rob explained that you need to starve it (Matthew 5:29-30), displace and replace it (Philippians 4:8), and recommit yourself to loving relationships.
Service Highlights: Tough to top the music special this weekend. The band did a great job covering the Evanescence song "Everybody’s Fool." Of course, the music really comes to life with the video backdrop. The new video system is certainly enhancing all parts of the weekend service from worship to special music to message.
Stats: 6,822 total attendance (5,228 adults + 1,594 kids); 61.3% increase from the same weekend last year
Percentage of weekend attendance by service:
Final Notes: You may want to check out the PureSex series page on GCCwired.com. Among other things, you’ll find video clips from the first weekend and you’ll have the ability to purchase downloads of the messages.

How are you counting your attendees? Especially with such a large number attending.

We wait until after the message starts to make sure we catch all the latecomers. At least two people complete the counts to make sure they’re accurate. They either count people or empty seats depending on how full the services are to determine how many people are in the auditorium. The children are obviously counted in their classrooms. We do not include volunteers that are serving in these counts.
