As a connoisseur of comedy movies, this news makes me very happy. I learned in Relevant the other day that Steve Carell from the television show The Office will be starring in Evan Almighty, the sequel to Bruce Almighty. Through a quick Google search I uncovered this article on the Sci Fi Wire that has more details about the upcoming production. In that article, Carell is quoted as saying, "It involves God coming to my character and instructing him to build an ark, and it sort of starts from there. … I think it will be [hilarious]. I read the script, and it’s really funny. … He undergoes a learning curve, emotionally and spiritually, in the building of this ark."
We did a 5 week series based on the Bruce Almighty movie several years ago and it was a huge sucess. One of the things that made it such a sucess was the one on one interview we did with the writer/director Tom Shadyach. He was great to talk to and had some interesting takes on the film. When I was out in California doing the interview he told me about the Evan Almighty movie.
