Numbers

Tim, the other simply strategic guy, recently pulled together a bunch of numbers to update the church on what’s been happening at Granger over the last twelve months. I know. Some of you hate numbers. Feel free to skip this post. For others, this may give you a sense of the types of things we measure at Granger to make sure people are continuing to take their next steps toward Christ.

  • Our church likes to invite their friends. Every weekend we have about 250 people who are visiting for the very first time.
  • More than half the people who attend Granger started coming within the last two years.
  • More than half of our church was not attending a church before they came to Granger.
  • We have an average of 597 students gathering each week for student ministry events.
  • We had 868 men and women attend spiritual retreats last year.
  • Granger helped plant 500 churches in India with 84,000 people connected as members in those churches.
  • Our weekly enewsletter reaches 4,994 people.
  • In the last three years, more than 1,346 people have been baptized.
  • Our church provided 4,063 boxes of food to hungry families within the South Bend region.
  • Granger assisted over 5,000 Hurricane Katrina victims.
  • Volunteers from our church provide on-going ministry to 600 at-risk kids in downtown South Bend.
  • We minister to an average of 1,288 kids every weekend. A total of 6,864 children participated in our ministry programming last year.
  • Granger staff and volunteers had the opportunity to equip more than 1,800 church leaders through training workshops in 2005.
  • Last year, 280 people volunteered for the Jimmy Carter Work Project.

Remember, we believe these numbers aren’t just statistics–they reflect changed lives.

Those are some outstanding numbers. I really liked the number that shows you are not just “sheep swapping” and growing that way.
