Leaving Las Vegas

MmSorry for the slow posting over the past several days. I just wrapped up a brief vacation with my wife. (All vacations with my wife are way too brief.) We celebrated 15 years of being married, to each other, with a 4-day trip to Las Vegas. It was Emily’s first visit to Vegas. She liked it. Here are our highlights:

  • I drove from L.A. to Vegas. Loved the drive through the mountains and across the desert. It was a beautiful trip.
  • We learned that when it rains in Chicago, planes can’t land at O’Hare. Go figure. Em arrived about 5 hours late in Vegas. We were making memories from the very beginning of the trip.
  • We stayed at Treasure Island and hung out at the pool every afternoon. The beach is better, but we like the pool too.
  • I met a guy at the grocery store and he let me hold his pet–a red bearded Australian dragon.
  • We saw "O" at the Bellagio. It was…how should I describe it…wet. Good and wet.
  • We traveled down to the Hoover Dam. Then we traveled down the Hoover Dam. It’s a big dam.
  • The car temperature gauge read 112 at one point. It was a dry heat.
  • We visited the M&M’s Store and had our picture taken with Ms. Green.
  • We didn’t lose any money. I’m just too tight with my money to risk it like that. I love Texas Hold ‘Em Poker, but I couldn’t convince anyone that we should just play for fun.
  • We went shopping and didn’t buy anything. See previous bullet. I’m tight with my money. I love getting new things, but I couldn’t convince anyone they should just give me stuff for fun.

I still prefer beach vacations, but it was fun to do something different and celebrate 15 years with my wife and best friend. Marriage is a good thing.

    Green M&M? Subtle, Tony. Subtle.

I went to Vegas for the first time last year to go to a conference with my wife.

The M&M store is way cool! Four floors of chocolate heaven…

I would be just fine never going back. There are no coffee pots in the hotel rooms!!!! I was grumpy for the first day or two because we didn’t budget an extra $10 a day to buy coffee at one of the shops down stairs.

Lots of weird stuff to see there, though.
