Bible Journey > Judges
Here are my thoughts and highlights from Judges as I continue my journey through the Bible:
- "Eventually that entire generation died and was buried. Then another generation grew up that didn’t know anything of God or the work he had done for Israel." The Church is one generation away from extinction. We must reach all generations.
- "Ehud reached with his left hand and took his sword from his right thigh and plunged it into the king’s big belly. Not only the blade but the hilt went in. The fat closed in over it so he couldn’t pull it out." That’s a fat king. Someone should have introduced him to the South Moab Diet.
- Why is it a novelty for women to be in positions of leadership in the 21st century? Women like Deborah were in positions of great power thousands of years ago. Somewhere along the way civilization regressed.
- I don’t get the multiple wives deal. Gideon, as an example, had lots of them. He had 70 sons from them. Way too many anniversaries to remember.
- "And Jotham fled. He ran for his life. He went to Beer and settled down there." Jotham must not have been Baptist.
- Samson taught us all important lessons about the challenges of dealing with a nagging spouse and facing a bad hair day.
- "Go assured. God’s looking out for you all the way." That’s consistent with with the promise from Matthew that God will be with me "to the end of the age."

this is a great review…really insightful…but so funny! :)
