So here’s the scoop on the Al Jazeera deal. They’re launching a new network. It’ll be in English rather than Arabic. In Addition to Qatar, the new network is opening bureaus in Washington, DC and London. They’re trying to become a truly international network. Here are a couple of stories with more details:

They’re coming to Granger this weekend to do a story on technology and the church. Last weekend, they were at LifeChurch.tv. This, I believe, is probably the result of an ongoing dialogue that started a couple of months ago with MyLameSexLife.com and continued with the article on the cover of the L.A. Times that addressed our recent "Finding God on Your iPod" series.

This is an exciting opportunity for a couple of reasons. One, it continues to raise the importance of churches using technology to reach today’s culture. Secondly, it brings the message of Jesus Christ to parts of the world that obviously don’t understand our faith.

It’s hard to say what might come of this unique opportunity, but I’m looking forward to seeing how God uses this. There’s never a boring day at Granger Community Church.
