Summer Vacation Day Six

070606_0822_1Today we were back on the road. Here are the updates from our trip.

  • We started the day by swinging by the world’s largest twine ball. It turns out there are actually bigger twine balls, but this is the largest one created by one person. Which, among other things, suggests that if you commit 39 years of your life to something, there’s probably a good chance you’ll become noted for your work. The twine ball is 11 feet tall and weighs 11 tons. Here’s a picture of Jacob posing in front of it.
  • I love it that I can travel across the countryside of Wisconsin and listen to non-stop golf coverage on XM Radio. It’s almost as fun as being able to blog using my RAZR cell phone as a modem and not having to pay the $9.99 for Internet access.
  • We arrived in the Wisconsin Dells early this afternoon and headed straight to the waterpark. We’re staying at the Kalahari Resort. The resort has both an indoor and an outdoor waterpark. We’ve had a blast. It’s a Morgan family consensus that this waterpark is a lot better than the Great Wolf Lodge we stayed in earlier this year. Our favorite ride is the Master Blaster uphill water rollercoaster waterslide.

We have a special treat waiting for us tomorrow. I can’t wait to share the details. In the mean time, I’m also praying for Corey. He’s teaching for the first time at our services this weekend. I’m looking forward to getting back on Saturday to hear him live.

Our family had a little tradition going on for about four years where we went to Kalahari every January. It was so awesome to be in an amazing waterpark and, while going down a water slide, looking out the window and seeing snow on the ground. Definitely one of the best resorts out there!

(There is one in Sandusky too. Awesome water park and Cedar Point, what more could one ask for?!)

Tony, if you happen to swing back down past Kenosha make sure you stop at The Brat Stop. Their gift shop has got some great stuff and the brats in the restraunt aren’t bad either.

It’s not Corey’s first time :), he preached during the “Finding God in Music” series awhile back. Wisconsin is cool, I lived in the Burlington/Milwaukee area when I was little. I can agree that Kenosha is a must go to city, the Mars Cheese Castle on 94 is a pretty yummy place too.
