In case you haven’t heard, the rumors are true. The other simply strategic guy, Tim Stevens, is blogging. Already, he’s offered several valuable insights into ministry leadership. My favorite post so far has been his tribute to Mark Beeson, one of my good friends who also happens to be the senior pastor at Granger.

I figured there’s probably no better way to welcome Tim to the blogosphere than to draft a top ten list in his honor. With that in mind, here they are:

10 Reasons Why It’s Good that Tim is Blogging

  1. Now Tim and I will have something else to discuss when we’re in the hot tub together on Simply Strategic workshop trips.
  2. I’m less likely to get fired for blogging since my boss also blogs.
  3. We’ll have the opportunity to embrace junior high humor by listing domain names that rhyme with LeadingSmart.com–like FeedingBart.com and BreedingFart.com.
  4. It’ll be easier for Ingrid, Jim and Ian to discover new reasons to attack Granger’s ministry.
  5. He’s one more person who might buy my new book: Blog Your Way to Less Blubber and Look Snappy Doing It.
  6. We may finally learn why Tim’s mom overcooks her broccoli.
  7. It gives Tim and me one more method for maintaining communications without actually having to meet and talk face-to-face.
  8. It will prove once and for all that people born in Iowa can actually read and write.
  9. I’ll have one more mental image for what Tim might be doing behind his closed office door besides twirling fire batons and knitting wool scarves.
  10. I’m tired of having to post all of Tim’s wacky ideas on my blog and pretend that they’re my original thoughts. (For example, who ever heard of a guy wearing a pink shirt?)
