Here are my thoughts and highlights from Philemon as I continue my journey through the Bible:

• Paul proves in this letter that sometimes short messages are better messages.
• Paul expresses thanks for the great things he’s been hearing about Philemon. Paul explained, "I keep hearing of the love and faith you have for the Master Jesus, which brims over to other Christians." That’s the kind of influence I’d like to have on others.
• I like this formula that Paul outlined for us: "faith we hold in common" + "good things we do" = "people recognize Christ in all of it." That’s what ministry is all about.
