Here’s the "box score" for this past weekend at Granger Community Church.

Music: "Stillness (Speak to Me)" by Aaron Shust

Message: "RECORD: Get the right stuff inside." — Mark Beeson, Senior Pastor, talked about the importance of reading the Bible (Joshua 1:8). In the first part of the message, he gave a summary of the entire Bible. He told us that we need to know what the Bible says before we can know what it means. In the conclusion of the message, Mark encouraged us to ask three questions when we’re reading God’s Word: (1) What does this tell me about God? (2) What does this tell me about other people? (3) What does this tell me about me?

ClickService Highlights: The highlight of this service wasn’t actually in the service I attended. I was at the very first service on Saturday evening, and, unfortunately, the video called "The Quoter" was not available. It was shown in the remaining four services. This very clever video was a parody of the television show The Office. It demonstrated how difficult it is to be around someone who speaks the Truth without love.

Stats: 5,087 total attendance (4,088 adults + 999 kids); 9.1% increase from same weekend last year

Percentage of weekend attendance by service:

  1. Sun 10:15 am = 28%
  2. Sun 11:45 am = 23%
  3. Sat 5:30 pm = 19%
  4. Sat 7:30 pm = 17%
  5. Sun 8:45 am = 13%

Final Notes: In case you’re curious, we had over 5,200 people at the services the previous weekend. That was an almost 19% increase from the same weekend in 2005. It appears that people are really resonating with this series that’s focusing on how we can take our next steps toward Christ in our personal faith journeys.
