We also need to make sure we aren’t trying to bombard people with our message, and we need to communicate a relevant message:

"It’s possible for frequency or the messaging to push subscribers to unsubscribe. Sixty-five percent of subscribers said they unsubscribe when a newsletter is not relevant. Fifty-six percent unsubscribe to newsletters with too high a frequency."

I think this principle works in other forms of communication too…including sermons. If we bombard people with a message they perceive to be irrelevant to their lives, they’ll unsubscribe.
