Here’s the "box score" for this past weekend at Granger Community Church.

Music: "What Are You Waiting For" by Natalie Grant

Message: "DAVE: When the King of the House is a Couch Potato" — Mark Beeson, Senior Pastor, talked about how people begin well but finish poorly. He explained that one big reason for that is we don’t graze well. He used the story of David and Bathsheba to illustrate this principle (II Samuel 11:1-27). Mark encouraged us to stay focused on taking our next step toward Christ.

Service Highlights: I realize this may be small to most people, but, as a child of the 80s, my highlight from this weekend’s service was seeing Marty rocking the keytar.

Stats: 5,235 total attendance (4,141 adults + 1,094 kids); 0.2% increase from same weekend last year

Percentage of weekend attendance by service:

  1. Sun 10:15 am = 33%
  2. Sun 11:45 am = 20%
  3. Sat 7:30 pm = 18%
  4. Sat 5:30 pm = 17%
  5. Sun 8:45 am = 12%

Final Notes: Our attendance has actually plateaued a little bit over the last several weeks when compared to last year. One reason is this particular weekend series about the life of David is actually more focused on growth rather than outreach. The other reason is last year at this time we were in the middle of a series that focused heavily on felts needs. We were doing the Lost series which dealt with the emotions of anger, loneliness, confusion, fear and shame.
