Family Time

I don’t know why it is, but it always seems like my fall schedule gets crazy. This year is no exception. With that in mind, we decided to take advantage of a two-day fall break that the kids have off of school. We’ve been at a condo on Lake Michigan the last couple of days. It’s beautiful. Lots of sand dunes. Lots of water. The weather has been crappy as it normally is this time of year, but we’ve had a good time. Here are the highlights:

  • We’ve taken advantage of the indoor pool and hot tub.
  • Jacob has spanked me at ping pong…three times.
  • We’ve been drinking coffee and reading in front of the fire place.
  • I won a mean game of Cities and Knights of Catan.
  • We ate out with the kids. (We rarely do that, so that’s a huge treat for them.)
  • The girls went shopping. Kayla bought cow sleep pants.

By the way, Emily reports: "Condo vacationing is the way to go." I would concur. We found a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath condo with all the amenities of a home. We were able to rent this place for two days for the same price or less than I’d be able to find a hotel suite to hold our family of four kids. I’ve had good success using the Vacation Rentals by Owner website to track down condos all over the country. Now you, too, can vacation like the Morgan family.

Tomorrow, I’m off to Anderson, South Carolina to visit Perry and the gang at NewSpring Church. More on that later.

WAY to go…way to invest in your wife EM and your kids! Your kids will remember these times forever…especially for whuppin you in ping pong (I’m a former city champ :)
