Be careful, Tony! You said The mac was good but that it wasn’t “all that”… sometime in the coming days or weeks, without even expecting it, something in your brain chemistry will change. You’ll love the mac, you’ll be amazed in every way… you’ll learn something new everyday. You’ll believe that Jesus had a MacBook… hmmm.

By the way, the search feature in OSX is exceptional for searching for things like that long lost e-mail you lost… just a heads-up!

Tony – this cracked me right up! I love hearing about your quirks! =)

Seriously, dude, I’m glad someone is admitting that Macs are not the end all be all. They are indeed superb machines and there are features and functions on a Mac that can’t be found on other machines. But there are features and functions on EVERY platform that can’t be found on “rival” systems.

In the end, it’s all about productivity and personal process. If your workflow lines up with they style of a Mac, then woo-hoo. Enjoy your Mac. If you are most productive using a PC, then woo-hoo. Enjoy your PC. If you really dig into your workflow on Linux, then woo-hoo. Enjoy the penguin.

In the end, it’s about what solution works for YOU. Not anyone else. And not everyone can love the Mac. Not everyone will be amazed in every way when their “brain chemistry” changes without expectation. Pardon the direct translation here, but if owning a Mac is going to change my brain chemistry, I’ll think I’ll stick to my PC.

Tony: Praying for your brother-in-law. May God keep him safe as he fights to protect freedom.

Good post Tony. Keep up the good work. I have enjoyed reading your learnings. Lead on.

Your mac comment echoes what I’ve been telling people since getting my MacBook Pro this past summer. It’s cool & all, but I just don’t get as excited about it as my friend who suggested I buy it.

There are some very nice things about it, though. Quicksilver being one of the big ones. If you haven’t picked it up yet, I highly suggest it.

Ditto what John said. And, I’m not a big fan of ketchup either.

It’s not too late…Mac has a wonderful buyback policy…don’t be ashamed! 2 years ago I gave into peer pressure and got a G4 Powerbook. 2 months later it was back at the Mac store, as you said it was cool and all, but…

This is a great list. I enjoy the randomness of it all. Going from churhes to boxing was the best.

By the way, did you read about the 94 year old blind woman who bowled a 244 the other day?

    1. Fantasy Football is a lot more fun when your team actually has a chance of making the playoffs. 2. My son, Silas, is a happier boy on (a) days when he’s slept past 6:30am and (b) days that he

Ok. I’m not normally a skeptic. I really don’t doubt that Andy and John would read your blog; ok, I do! I think they would really enjoy it if they did, but I can be a little naive. So do you have friends spoofing you or what up?

  14. tony morgan December 3, 2006 at 10:47 pm #

Kathy, odds are good among John, Andy and the Pope, that one of those comments is legitimate. I can tell you “John’s” comment originated from Grand Rapids, MI. He doesn’t live anywhere near Grand Rapids. The “Pope’s” comment originated in Granger, IN. To my knowledge, he’s not been in Granger recently…though who knows what kind of strings the Notre Dame football program can pull. The comment from Andy actually came from Atlanta, GA. Andy has commented before. If I had to wager on one of those comments as being legitimate (I can’t actually wager since this is a Baptist-friendly blog), I’d put my money on the one from Andy. What do you think?

Thanks for mentioning the XL Pimp My Ride contest. We picked a winner and drove the car in the building and onto the stage last night. We now have 2 weeks of crazy work ahead. Check out http://www.xlwired.com for daily updates, pictures, and videos of the car.

I also highly recommend you try Quicksilver on your Mac. That’s the one program I wish there was a Windows equivalent of (I know there are a few that try to be, but they’re all resource hogs).
