Myths of Growing Churches
The folks at Outreach Magazine just refreshed their web exclusives. You can catch my most recent article on the myths of growing churches featuring NewSpring Church in Anderson, South Carolina. After reviewing the article, you may want to share some other myths that you see.

no new myth-just a confirmation of one of yours. lake pointe is in rockwall, which has a population of ~25,000; and rockwall county (albeit the 3rd fastest growing county in the nation) only has 62,944 people (as of 2005, according to wikipedia). our membership is somewhere in the 12-13K range, with 10K attending every weekend. we aren’t really considered in metroplex – just slightly out of it. so yeah, i can agree with that myth completely.
really, lake pointe personifies al l those myths…we had thousands of people go on mission trips, and our teaching team is not one for making things “happy and pretty” for jesus to “look cool”…
nice job dispelling those myths. we are actually working on communicating that we’re more like a big family than a mega church to our community.
