Are You Ready for Guests?
Perry linked to the video below in his post earlier today. You have to check it out. The guy who shot the video attends NewSpring and has been trying to get his dad to go to church for years. His dad finally agreed to go. This video documents the first time he has stepped foot in a church in 20 years. As you watch the video, ask yourself the question are we ready for guests to show up at our church every weekend?

What would have happened if it were a bad experience? Do you think Perry would have asked him to take down the video? We had a simular conversation on my blog last week.
Here
But apparently some of the people at Mosaic did not like the idea of the video so out of respect I took it down.

Hope everything goes well in your transition!!!
Carlos
wow. that was awesome (aside from the quality of the video). lets just pray now that his dad continues to go and grows. very cool.
I thought the dad’s comment at the end was interesting…something like “things gotta change…they’re losing all your people” or whatever…very interesting take!
At about the 5:25 mark in video, you can see two guys with their baseball caps making their way to their seats. My first thought, from my “dealing-with-dyed-in-the-wool-traditional church folks” was: “Why don’t those boys take off their hats? Don’t thy know they’re in church?”
Sadly, too many of our folks would – and do – focus on that kind of thing rather than the life change that may be going on…
In all, a very interesting video!
Oh, and Tony…welcome South, brother!
WOW – incredible. I can’t tell you hao many times I go to do a service & totally forget that there are people like that. Truly incredible – thanks for sharing!
How Do Visitors Experience Your Church?
A video documenting a son taking his dad to church. Dad hasnt been to church in over twenty years. This is a big church, folks. Police actually direct traffic, if I heard the son correctly. Too, Dad son are attending the 4:00 PM Sunday aft…
Carlos, I asked Perry about your question. He essentially said, if someone captured a bad experience, we’d address it and correct it.
