Box Score for February 11, 2007
Here’s the "box score" for this Sunday at NewSpring Church.
Music: "Life is a Highway" (Rascal Flatts arrangement)
Message: "I’ve Gotta Know" — Perry Noble,
Senior Pastor, talked about how we can know whether or not we are going to Heaven. Using Luke 23:39-43, Perry explained we need to face three realities: (1) we’ve messed up, (2) we need help and (3) we need Jesus. He used two cars on the platform to explain the difference between a life with and without Jesus. One car he beat up with a sledge hammer to represent the marks sin leaves on our lives. The other car was a shiny, red Ferrari. It represented the new life we have in Jesus. It was a powerful visual to help explain the Gospel message.

Service Highlights: At the end of the service, Perry offered an invitation for people to stand up and pray to receive Christ into their lives. He’ll likely share the exact number in the next couple of days, but I’m confident more than 200 people took that step today. Very exciting!
Stats: 9,260 total attendance; 2,329 person increase (33.6%) from the same weekend last year
Final Notes: I just want to note that we set an attendance record my first Sunday on staff. That’s the highest attendance ever including Easter and Christmas weekends. (Not that I’m taking credit for the sudden attendance increase or anything…) By the way, this was also the one-year anniversary of the opening of NewSpring’s building.

Amazing! God is Good. At this rate New Spring is going to reach the whole world for Jesus (by August)!
Rascal Flatts on your very first weekend there, huh? I couldn’t have asked for anything more!! ;)
I read Perry this morning and he said, “I am still praying for what happened in Acts 2:41 to happen in our church–3,000 in one day! He’s the same God…if He did it then He can do it again!!! Let’s all commit to praying for this & just see what happens!!!” I love it when people ACTUALLY BELIEVE that God is God and He can do anything!
Way to go guys. If you don’t live in church world you may not really know how mirculous it is for a church to grow to 9260 people in a town of 175,000. This is unheard of folks. It’s happening because God is working through godly men like Perry, Tony and the rest of the NewSpring team. For Perry’s critics, God works through those who are seeking and following Him and what is going on at NewSpring would not be happening if it were not for God’s blessings. NewSpring is a great example of how big God can be when we just believe He’s capable of anything. Keep up the great work guys and I can’t wait to see you reach 3000 in one day. Also know that there is a lot of us praying for you.
