Leaving on a Jet Plane
I’m flying out to Dallas tomorrow to visit my friends at Fellowship Church and attend the C3 Conference. I’m assuming not only will I get to hear T.D. Jakes, but I’ll also get to hear Ed Young imitate T.D. Jakes. Maybe T.D. Jakes will dress like Ed Young.
While I’m gone…
- I’ll be listening to tobyMac’s new album that was released today. Check out Portable Sounds.
- At the recommendation of Perry, I’m also going to listen to the seven Practically Speaking podcasts with Andy Stanley, Reggie Joiner and Lane Jones. The podcasts are based on one of my favorite ministry leadership books, 7 Practices of Effective Ministry.
- I’m going to check out my little brother’s new blog. Jon’s my little brother, but he’s actually bigger than me. He has a better jump shot than me. He’s better looking than me. He’s more musical than me. He’s more "pastoral" than me. And, I won’t be surprised if he ends up blogging better than me. For what it’s worth, I think I can still outrun him. I love you, Jon. You’re still my favorite brother. :-)
Tony, if you can get me a signed copy of Mark Driscoll’s book “Confessions of a Reformission Rev” I’d owe you big time.
Really interested to hear how you see Driscoll fitting into the scheme of things with the other speakers at the conference. I love Driscoll but his preaching doesn’t seem to blend with Ed Young and Craig Groeschel’s.

I’ve also recommended the Practically Speaking podcasts to a number of people. They are outstanding reminders for those who have read the book, and a serious nudge for those who haven’t. Seriously, if you haven’t listened to them go down load them now and get started! In fact, listen to them all a couple of times!!
