Final Notes from C3

Didn’t have a lot of free time during my trip last week to share highlights from the C3 Conference at Fellowship Church. With that in mind, here’s a quick download:
- We had the opportunity to visit Dealy Plaza in downtown Dallas and saw the Texas School Book Despository building and the location on Elm Street where JFK was assassinated. Pretty eerie standing in the same location where history was dramatically altered.
- I saw the famous Brian Bailey, author of The Blogging Church. He was ably manning the CreativePastors.com booth with his wife.
- I ran into Matt Card from Clark ProMedia. Matt and I talked about video and audio installations…and the topic of golf somewhere between Anderson, SC and Atlanta also happened to come up.
- Jeff from Fellowship Technologies was hanging out at the conference. I’m sure he was listening to Bishop TD Jakes, Mark Driscoll and Ed Young and he was thinking, "These guys are good, but I can’t wait to hear Tony Morgan speak at the Dynamic Church Conference that Fellowship Technologies is hosting in May."
- Perry and I had lunch with Lawrence Swicegood from Clarion Call Marketing and David Middlebrook of The Church Law Group. Both guys have done some work for NewSpring–helping to lay the foundation for the dramatic growth we’ve experienced in recent years.
- I finally got to meet Craig Groeschel and Bobby Gruenewald in person. These guys lead LifeChurch.tv (one of the fastest growing churches in the country) and they both post on the Swerve Blog (one of my favorite blogs to follow). I don’t think it’s quite fair that God allows two smart guys like that to be in the same church…or on the same blog.
- I boycotted the 6:00 am workout sessions. I like to exercise. I need to exercise. But God did not design this body for exercise at 6:00 in the morning. That’s when normal people sleep.

Glad you guys enjoyed C3… I was one of the usher volunteers that was helping out in your section of the auditorium and like you, had an incredible time! Even coming from the corporate world, it’s amazing how Biblical leadership translates to anyone in any situation.
Anyways, enjoy the blog and all the best… John.
