Jami complained earlier this week that I haven’t been funny enough on my blog in recent days. It made me think I may be too focused on my transition. I need to get back to my roots. With that in mind, I’m dedicating this post to Jami. She has inspired me to present to you:
10 Country Songs I’d Write if I Liked Country Music
- She Thinks My Audi’s Sexy
- Ladies Love Country Boys with Midwestern Accents
- You, Me and a Glass of Sweet Tea
- Get Drunk and Be Somebody…Unless You’re Baptist
- Wake Me Up When There’s a Wreck (The NASCAR Ballad)
- Snoot Shootin’ Boogers
- Jesus, Take the Wheel ‘Cause There’s a Smokey on My Tail
- Feels Like Love but Tastes Like Grits
- Cowboy Take the Dixie Chicks Away
- I’ll Listen to Country Music When Waffle House Decides to Close
And, no, Sheryl Crow is not a country musician. She’s a pop artist.

Wow, I’m so honored! A post dedicated to me…I think that’s a first. I’ve never had a post dedicated to me.
I would like to thank Todd, Kem, my peeps at GCC, my mom and dad, my kids. :)
Thanks Tony for the laugh…but what I think I’m looking forward the most in regards to this post is the comments…bring them on Beck! :)
Great post Tony! I laughed out aloud several times. Maybe you have found your calling. See, we all knew deep down you are a country music fan. For now I suppose we will let you live in your fantasy world about Sheryl Crow, go ahead keep telling yourself she is a pop artist, whatever makes you feel better :)
Can’t wait for the “Top 10 Classical Songs If I Liked Classical Music” selections! When can we expect it?!?!?
#9 is my personal favorite.
you do know you are in Anderson, SC right. Most people would say, ‘dems fight’n words’. ha ha.
There he is…
Tony- hilarious! You might just make it here in the deep south after all!!! Oh! and by the way, love does NOT taste like grits- but both ARE from God!!!!
Tony…. no matter WHO says otherwise… grits are NOT from God! they are from satan himself! Don’t go near the grits…. the greens too! Nasty!!!!
Number 5 is our family song!
Thanks for the laughs! In no time, you will be just like the rest of us transplants…. slow and relaxed… wait till you go back to IN after about 6 months here… you will not believe that you functioned and thrived there!
Ouch, that hurts when someone gives you the ‘ole “you know, you just aren’t funny anymore…” Nice comeback.
I think you forgot your theme songs Tony. You know, “Hillbilly Deluxe” and “Stupid Boy.” ;) hehe
Thanks for the laughs, my friend. We were really missing “funny Tony”! Make sure, if you ever do come back to visit (which I’m sure will only be after ALL of the snow melts) that you bring him along with you. :)
By the way… I blog too.
