Here are my thoughts and highlights from Lamentations as I continue my journey through the Bible:

  • "She played fast and loose with life, she never considered tomorrow, and now she’s crashed royally." Good reminder that I need to remain faithful and disciplined and that there are consequences to my actions.
  • It’s comforting to know that even when I don’t know what to pray, God hears my groans.
  • God does exactly what he says he’ll do.
  • "I keep a grip on hope."
  • Great is God’s faithfulness!
  • "God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks."
  • "Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face. The ‘worst’ is never the worst." Good reminder for someone like me who tends to worry too much.
  • God wants us to find success in life. "He takes no pleasure in making life hard, in throwing roadblocks in the way."
  • "Better to have died of battle wounds than to slowly starve to death." I need to always engage the battle.
  • "Music from the young is heard no more. All the joy is gone from our hearts." Makes me wonder if there’s some value to embracing music from the younger generations.
  • God is a god of fresh starts.
