Get Your Strategy On
I’d like to get more…well…strategic about sharing stories and stats I’m capturing from churches across the country. I thought it might help all of us learn more, focus our prayer and stay engaged in our mission if we saw encouraging stories about what God’s doing at other churches. If everyone participates, I’m committed to making this a monthly or even weekly post. Here are some examples of what I’d like to hear:
Don’t go into a lot of detail. Just send me quick updates that I can pass along to my blog readers. I’ll save those up and compile them in an upcoming "Stories and Stats" post so others can celebrate the good news.
Don’t hesitate to share news about your own ministry. And feel free to pass along stories you’re hearing about other churches. Just include the church web address and your blog address, if you have one, so I can add links when appropriate.
This will be a lot more fun if everyone participates. This is an all-skate. What’s happening in your world?

Hey! We just finished a two week message series called H20, where we challenged people to spontaneous baptisms IN the service (we had clothes to change in to back stage). Over two weeks, we baptized 346 people!

Tony..
Good stuff. Remember the planter who has not launched yet. There are so many mini successes that lead up to launch that need to be celebrated and made known. You know how far a little encouragement goes with a church planter. Life Point will send you our “Little” but Big milestones to be celebrated. When you are trying to plant a multi - site church from the start you need all the encouragement you can get…

Not too long ago we ended our series looking at the fruit of the Spirit on compassion and instead of talking in platitudes we put it in action right there and then.
We cut the service short to everyone’s surprise and asked people to head to Wal-Mart. Over 300 people took over the store to buy from lists for a local ministry helping abused and abandoned kids…it was awesome!
Here’s quick VIDEO showing it in action…

We’re starting a new capital stewardship campaign. The focus is on how God continues to change lives by using the people of our church. It’s been exciting to hear all the stories of what He’s been doing. Yes, we’ll get to the money part, but the church is currently doing a “Park and Pray” - each week we get a scripture to memorize and suggested prayers focusing on that scripture. We’re instructed to park somewhere (a parking lot, driveway, or even on the couch) and pray that day’s prayer. It’s cool to know the entire church is daily praying for the same things. Anyway, see where we’re going at our Project Website http://www.growmorenow.com.

At CedarCreek.tv (formally CedarCreek Church) on Easter, we had nearly 11,000 in attendance, and over a four week period (ending at Easter) we had over 400 people accept Christ.
Easter services culminated in the following two videos… amazing, inspiring… just a few words to describe…

LifePoint launched September 24, 2006 and it has been a blast.
It is the life-stories that keep you going. Stories like Steve saying he has never wanted to go to church until now. Jeff who said in September that the church and God thing were not for him but since January has been almost every week and now would consider himself part of LifePoint.
We are not a perfect church but we are trying to help put the world back together one person at a time.
