Box Score for April 15, 2007

Here’s the "box score" for this Sunday at NewSpring Church.

Music:
"Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks; "Rockstar" by Nickelback; Check out the rest of the setlist on Lee’s blog

Message: "Chasing the Wrong Dream?" — Perry Noble,
Senior Pastor, talked about God’s unique purpose for each of our lives. He explained that when it comes to discovering what God wants, we need to ask three questions: (1) Am I willing to listen? (2) Am I willing to embrace? and (3) Am I willing to take action? Perry shared that being saved from Hell isn’t the only reason for receiving Christ. Jesus also died to get inside our lives. And, what’s inside of us needs to come out of us. With that, Perry asked the big question of the day: What’s God’s dream for your life?

Service Highlights: There were two media elements in this weekend’s service that impressed the tube socks off of me. The first was Ken’s opener to Perry’s message. That’s just straight out cool. The second was DJ’s video compilation that was shown during "Rockstar." I’ll never listen to that song the same way again.

Stats: 7,792 total attendance; 2,087 person increase (36.6%) from week after Easter weekend last year

Final Notes: This week we mapped out the weekends for the remainder of the year. Generally, we now know what type of series we’re going to do, when each new series will start and who will likely be teaching each week. By the way, I think you’re going to like the next series–it’s going to be "reel" cool.
