Seven Questions I Need to Ask Myself
We had an all-staff meeting at NewSpring this past week. Perry gave me permission to pass along these notes. Here are the seven questions he challenged all of the staff to ask ourselves:
- Am I living above reproach? (II Timothy 2:20-21)
- Is this job my passion or my paycheck? (II Samuel 23:9-10)
- Am I in line with where we are going as a church? (Perry said, “I’m not going to pastor a church that I can’t stand going to.”)
- Do I feel like I deserve more? (You shouldn’t.)
- Am I reflecting on how things used to be or passionate about how things are going to be?
- Do I feel like I have to “kill time” because there is “nothing to do?” (There’s always something to do when you’re in the “people business.”)
- Do I fully trust the leadership? (I Thes. 5:12-13)
Good stuff there. If you haven’t asked yourself these same questions, it may be time to. And, I think it would be wise to challenge the rest of your teams with these questions as well.

timely, friend. i will be passing these on to our staff this week.
Tony, not just good for the paid staff, but for all who attend NS! As Perry has said before… if this isn’t the church God wants you in, then get out… if this is where HE wants you to be… GET ON THE TRAIN!
Thanks to the entire staff for being in our faces about what God expects of us as members of NS… you guys ROCK! I thank God DAILY for the focus and leaders at NS!
Happy Monday!
