Could it be that even in the presence of massive amounts of data and direct experience, story is still the best medium for inspiring people toward movement?
That is an interesting correlation to church. How many are telling stories because there is a lack of trust that the word can stand on its own in the culture.
In my old days in the UMC, that is all it was, just stories.
Michael – Interesting use of double entendre. I hear you saying that stories were abused; i.e. – lies were perpetuated in your past experience. Is that accurate? I’d be interested to know if you feel that story is invalid or impaired because of that experience…
