I’m a sucker for piano-driven pop music. Billy Joel. Elton John. Gavin DeGraw. My new favorite is Jon McLaughlin. The name of his first album is Indiana. I don’t make this stuff up. (And, in case you’re wondering, I still love Indiana.) Start with Beautiful Disaster, Human and Industry.

    I downloaded “Beautiful Disaster” when it was a free download from iTunes…a welcome surprise.

    If you like piano driven music check out Over the Rhine (try “Professional Daydreamer” from Ohio) or Hem (“Half Acre”)…terrific music to work with or just shut your eyes and enjoy.

    I just talked about the same artist on my webpage today.
    This guy is awesome. Beautiful disaster is the best!!!! My 16 year old was taken back by it and I guess she’s not the only one.

    Hey Tony! Jon is definitely amazing. He’s a believer as well. A friend of mine knows him somehow and turned me onto him a few months ago. We’re considering going out to Myrtle Beach on Saturday to see him play. Want to come with? Bring the fam.
