Message: "Clearing Up the Confusion (Part 1)" — Perry Noble, Senior
Pastor, shared part one of two messages on prayer. He explained that Jesus taught that prayer is not about manipulation, but cooperation. In other words, there’s no formula for manipulating God. Instead, Perry stated prayer is about connection (Matthew 6:5-8), recognition (Matthew 6:9) and surrender (Matthew 6:10). Among other things Perry said, "If we recognize who God is, it will alter our behavior. And when we recognize how big God is, our problems become small."
Service Highlights: The band play "Indescribable" with a media playing in the background. It created a very powerful moment in the service. My highlight, though, was hearing Perry talk about some of the myths of prayer. Maybe after next weekend’s message I can convince him to blog the entire list. Some of them may surprise you.
Stats: 6,298 total attendance; 2,376 person increase (60.6%) from the same weekend last year
Final Notes: The decision was made this afternoon. I’m on the platform for the first time this coming weekend. I’m sure it will be the highlight of this weekend’s service. Get there early. I don’t want you to miss it.
