The Vending Machine

Vending_machine
I had a great conversation with some friends a few days ago. One of the women was talking about her old job. She left that position to pursue her dream. I don’t exactly remember what she used to do, but they replaced her old position with a vending machine. I’m glad she left her job. She was designed for so much more.

  • How are you investing your life?
  • Is it what you were designed to do?
  • Are you fulfilled?
  • Do you enjoy the people around you? Do they help bring the best out of you? Do you bring the best out of them?
  • Do you have enough financial resources to contribute to God’s work and support your family?
  • What lasting impact are you making?

Life is short. Just wanted to make sure you realized that sometimes you have to make the move. Sometimes God doesn’t fully reveal his will until you take the first step (Joshua 3:14-17).

Live boldly.

Thanks for posting this…I went through a similar circumstance recently and God totally moved me into the right situation when it seemed like there would be no way to do so…God can and does create situations for us to move and grow – even though it may come in the form of a layoff, as was the case in my life.

I stepped out to pursue my passion of helping others win with their personal finances in September 2006. I have NEVER looked back! It is AWESOME to do exactly what you are designed to do!

Thank you. I’ve really felt God’s leading to step out, but for so long I was waiting for Him to make it comfortable, even practical, for me to do so. He hasn’t. But next week is my last week at my job before my husband and I move to a new town – no place to live, no jobs – just a real peace about God’s leading. Again – thanks for the encouraging words. Not that I was starting to doubt our decision or anything….

Thanks for this post, Tony! I re-read Joshua 3:14-17 again and the word to take the first step you gave really applies in my life right now.

One of my favorite quotes is “Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” Feeling peace, feeling appreciated, and knowing you’re in God’s will with your position in work and in life brings joy and fulfillment beyond any words. I only know this because I’ve been on the other side! It was scary to move on, but I am so thankful that God had a better plan for me. Romans 8:28!

Thanks Tony, for the words of encouragement and a little shove to examine where we have let ourselves create a “comfort zone”…Not only do I appreciate hearing it from you, but I appreciate the fact that you demonstrated your convictions in what you have written by leaving Granger to follow God’s plans for you at NewSpring.
