Here’s a quick download on some highlights from recent days:
- We recently surpassed a milestone at NewSpring. There are now over 2,000 volunteers fully engaged in ministry. In case you’re keeping score at home, that’s about 27% of our average weekend attendance. We couldn’t impact our community the way we do without the commitment of those volunteers. It’s an amazing commitment to a big vision.
- If you love that piano-driven, pop sound like I do, you’ll want to download "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles. It’s the free iTunes "single of the week."
- Honestly, I don’t listen to podcasts. I did, however, take some time today to listen to the inaugural episode of the Countdown2Innovate podcast. Tim and Kem interviewed Guy Kawasaki, a keynote speaker at Innovate 2007.
- Today was my lucky day. I got to exchange email messages with a few of my favorite people including Seth Godin (he’s the real deal), Mark Batterson (I can’t wait to get Buzzed next week) and David Foster (one of my favorite "Renegades for God").
- In case you’re wondering, the palm tree is still doing fine. It’s already potty-trained and sleeping through the night.
- During the summer TV lull, Emily and I decided to venture out and find a new-to-us show on DVD. We’re three episodes into the first season of Grey’s Anatomy. So far so good. I can’t decide, though, if Emily is enjoying the acting, the storyline or just ogling Dr. McDreamy.

Tony, I’ve been following your blog for quite a while. Although I really enjoy all the stuff here, my favorite is today’s recommendation of “Love Song” by Sara Bareilles. Great songwriting gets my creative juices flowing for preparing messages. Thanks for the tip!

Hey Tony, I wanted to leave this comment the day of the post, but for some reason I can’t leave comments from work… Anywho, just wanted to give you some more piano-driven pop to check out. Nathan Angelo. He’s actually buddy-buddy with Jon McLaughlin. You can listen to his whole CD on his site:

I think you’ll really dig him.
