Buzz Highlights

Well, we wrapped up the Buzz Conference earlier this afternoon. I had a fun couple of days. Here are the highlights of my trip so far:

  • After Jacob’s championship game, which they unfortunately lost, we hit the road to drive to D.C. in the family truckster. I pulled an all-nighter so we could get to D.C. in time for me to catch yesterday’s sessions.
  • We took a little detour on the way up here to drive through Duke University. That was my first time on the campus. Just in case you’re wondering, Duke isn’t a very hopping campus at 2:00 a.m. on a Wednesday night in June. Once the friendly security guard caught up with us, he pointed us in the direction of Cameron Indoor Stadium. Though we weren’t able to see Coach K court, the family, particularly Jacob, seemed to enjoy the pilgrimage.
  • Washington, D.C. traffic sucks.
  • Yesterday, I caught the main sessions from Tim and Craig Groeschel. Both were outstanding. I’ll post the notes from Craig’s session separately. He shared some challenging questions.
  • Last evening I had the chance to hang out with some folks from the Granger team. Tim treated us to Hard Rock Cafe. It’s right beside Ford’s Theater where Lincoln was shot. Kind of weird eating grilled salmon within about 30 feet of where one of the most tragic moments in history took place. It was pretty good salmon, though.
  • I slept like a baby last night. I’m sleeping in tomorrow. I’m getting too old to pull off all-nighters.
  • This morning, me and my venti Starbucks coffee delivered a little blogging breakout. It looks like Ken was the only one that took notes. Either that or I was speaking to a room full of non-bloggers.
  • The conference wrapped up today with main sessions from Craig and Mark Batterson. Good stuff.
  • I had lunch with Bobby Gruenewald from LifeChurch.tv after the conference. I wish you all could have been there for Bobby’s description of "past gravity." Just in case you’re wondering, the new Bible website that these guys are cooking up is going to revolutionize the way you and I read and discover God’s Word. Unbelievable! I can’t wait to get my hands on the alpha site to begin exploring and interacting with it. Watch for more updates at YouVersion.com.
  • I’m not purchasing an iPhone today.

I promise, I took notes. This is just the first time I’ve been able to get connected to the the internet. It was great to get to meet you, and thanks for coming to share with us.

I thought is was good. I didn’t take notes. I figure you would blog about it. Isn’t that what the whole session was about?
