FeedBurner Stats: Feed Subscribers

Based on the stats from FeedBurner, here are the top 10 ways blog subscribers receive my feed:

  1. Google Reader or iGoogle – 724
  2. Bloglines – 637
  3. FeedBlitz – 165
  4. NewsGator Online – 106
  5. Windows RSS Platform – 105
  6. Firefox Live Bookmarks – 102
  7. My Yahoo – 41
  8. Safari RSS – 36
  9. Outlook 2007 – 35
  10. Netvibes – 31

What’s amazing about these stats is the rapid growth of Google as an RSS feed aggregator. Bloglines (which I still prefer) has lost a lot of ground to Google. What’s even more amazing is the fact that Yahoo and Microsoft are not even on the radar.

What is it about Bloglines that you prefer? Once the new Google Reader came out and I used it for 5 minutes I knew it was more powerful than Bloglines so I left BG, shacked up with Google Reader and never looked back.

Hey Tony, what plugins/programs do you use to track those subscribtion stats? I am having a problem monitoring all subscribers on my site. Thanks for any advice you can offer!

Tony, I’m using NetNewWire Lite on my Mac, just in case that information is useful.

Firefox’s Live Bookmarks are the only way to go …

Shawn, last I checked, Google Reader doesn’t allow you to subscribe to a search like “NewSpring Church” as an example. There are certain key searches that I need to stay on top of, and I’d rather do it from one site.

Bo, I use FeedBurner to track all these stats. You’ll have to find someone more versed in that solution if you need help.

    Tony,
Awesome, inspiring stats, my friend. Just curious – how many readers aren’t using RSS at all … they just come directly to your site?

I always read via GoogleReader unless I want to comment (like now) .. then, I click on the title in GR and come here to your blog to post …

Interesting in # of RSS versus actual unique web visitors per day. Feedburner can track that as well, in case you’ve not added it!

Also .. Shawn … I can help you w/ FeedBurner if you’re using WordPress … not sure how the redirect works on TypePad.

    I’m a huge GR fan.
But the ability to track searches… sounds cool. I might need to do a test run on bloglines.

“What’s even more amazing is the fact that Yahoo and Microsoft are not even on the radar.”

Last time I checked Outlook 2007 was a Microsoft product…

And yes, I like it much better than Bloglines.
