Here’s the "box score" for this Sunday at NewSpring Church.
Music:
"Cat’s in the Cradle" by Cat Stevens; Check out the rest of the setlist on Lee’s blog
Message: "Three Crucial Mistakes I Want to Avoid as a Parent" — Perry Noble,
Senior Pastor, used Isaiah 39 to talk about these three mistakes: 1. Forgetting that my child is a blessing; 2. Neglecting my child for other things; and 3. Being complacent about God’s Word to my family. One of the strongest statements Perry made in the message was a challenge to parents. He was addressing the sins or mistakes we’ve made in our own lives. Perry explained, "Unless we repent, it always affects the kids."
Service Highlights: This series has demonstrated the power of team. The promotions for the series, the stage design, the video trailer, the countdown clock, the program, the music and the message all helped us focus in on the parenting topic. Love that!
Stats: 7,904 total attendance; 609 person increase (8.3%) from the same weekend last year
Final Notes: Just in case your curious, the percentage increase this year compares to a marriage series that launched this same weekend last year. Yes, marriage series seem to meet the highest felt-need and typically generate the biggest response.

Tony,
Not trying to nitpick here, but I believe “Cat’s in the Cradle” was done by Harry Chapin. Hope you are doing well. Thanks for the lunch a couple of months ago. I’d love to hook up again sometine in ‘08.
“Cat’s In The Cradle” was written and recorded by Harry Chapin, wasn’t it?
