Your Baby is Ugly
So, I went to lunch with Lee today. On our way home, he indicated he would let me listen to a little bit of the new album that he’s releasing in a couple of months. Honestly, my first reaction was this could be a bad situation.
What if I don’t like the music? I might have to lie, so I don’t hurt his feelings. You know…kind of like when your friend gets a bad haircut. Or, when you look at an ugly newborn for the first time. What was I going to say if it wasn’t music to my ears?
Well, all I can say is the album is going to be amazing. Lee let me listen to portions of almost every track. I was absolutely blown away. Here are some reactions:
- It’s worship music, but…forgive me…it isn’t sissified worship music. This is the kind of music that dudes will want to listen to with the volume loud.
- It’s electric guitar-driven. Very little acoustic. The guitar riffs rock.
- Typically, I need to hear a song a half dozen times before I’m convinced I’m going to love it. There were several songs that grabbed me the first time.
- It’s not all pin-your-ears-back music. There are some surprises.
- Did I mention the guitar riffs rock?
- Lee wouldn’t stop talking about the team that has helped on this project including Justin and Jeremy with the writing and Jason the producer. I got a sneak peak at Joshua’s design for the album cover. He also mentioned something about a guy who has played strings for Tim McGraw. That’s when I stopped listening. I don’t do country music.
I’m really proud of Lee and our team. And, I can’t wait to have this album on my iPod. Don’t worry. When it’s available, you’ll be the first to know.
(I’m glad, though, that Lee didn’t ask me about his haircut.)

I haven’t had the great honor of hearing any of the tracks yet, but Lee did show me Joshua’s artwork and cover design.
Definitely better looking than a fresh newborn!
