Crank It Up

We launched a new series at NewSpring yesterday. The series, Crank It Up, is focused on helping people make a louder impact with their lives–we want folks to live life amplified. Here are some highlights from the launch of the series.

• Perry will be using this series to unpack some essential spiritual disciplines. Yesterday he focused on the importance for us to have a daily time with God. My favorite quote: "I love it when I read Scripture. I love it even more when Scripture reads me."
• Crank It Up is going to be filled with lots of classic rock. Yesterday the band played an instrumental version of the Guns N’ Roses song "Welcome to the Jungle" to open the service and then RoseAngela rocked out Bon Jovi’s "Livin’ on a Prayer."
• We had several folks trying out the Guitar Hero game in the atrium before the service. I admit it–I’ve never played the game, but I think I’m ready for the challenge.
• We gave away about 300 Bibles yesterday and we promoted our new partnership with YouVersion to encourage people to read the Bible online and interact with other people who are doing the same.
