Get Your Strategy On
I’ve been preparing for the session I’m going to be presenting at the Church Solutions Conference in Phoenix next week. By the way, if you haven’t checked out that event yet, you may want to give it a look. The event is being hosted by Church Solutions Magazine. It’s intended to help growing churches with a particular focus
on those planning to expand or further develop their existing
facilities. I will be joined by Chip Heath (author of Made to Stick) and Gabe Lyons (founder of the Fermi Project). It should be a lot of fun.
So, back to my session… I really struggle with what to share at conferences like this. Even though I’ve been in leadership roles for about 20 years now, I’m still learning what it takes to be a good leader. Because of that, I feel awkward trying to tell other leaders how to lead because I’m still trying to figure it out myself.
With that in mind, I’ve decided to take a different spin with this session. With the help of some friends, I’ve compiled a list of the “10 Stupidest Leadership Mistakes I’ve Made.” In other words, rather than sharing all of the enlightening leadership principles I’ve discovered through the years, I’m going to confess all the dumb mistakes I’ve made. Honestly, I don’t know if it’ll benefit those attending the conference, but it will at least be cathartic for me.
If you are fascinated by grown men baring their souls and confessing their deepest, darkest secrets, then you may want to consider joining us at the Church Solutions Conference next week. The confessional will be open.

If I were leading that workshop I would have a hard time limiting my stupid mistakes to just 10!

Won’t be there (unfortunately).
But can’t wait to see and read this list.

Great angle to come from for your talk. I’d love to see these in a blog post as well.
