Rock Meets Worship

Emily and I had the opportunity to join some friends tonight for a little listening party. It was our first chance to hear the soon to be released Lee McD worship album. Here’s my quick reaction after hearing it all the first time:
- One of the rare albums that I loved from beginning to end.
- It’s big-guitar-rock meets worship music. There’s nothing like it out there right now.
- Oh, and there are a few surprises for piano guys like me.
- It was fun hearing the stories behind the songs.
- Jeremy and Justin and Lee are gifted songwriters.
- Now I know why the crew had a professional producer involved. Amazing!
- I know I’m prejudiced, but I think we’re going to be hearing this music in churches throughout the world in the coming days.
NewSpringers may want to consider joining us on March 7 for the CD release concert. We’ll also have the new CD available at Unleash 08 for those participating in that event.
Believe me. You’re going to love it!
UPDATE: Lee added some song previews from the new album to his Virb page. "We Stand" is my favorite.

I can’t wait to hear this thing!
Tony, if you’re not able to make the release concert, but want a copy, can you pre-order someplace? Anyone want my ticket, and just mail me the CD?
Thanks, Nick
For those folks who don’t like their worship loud and proud, heaven ain’t going to be a quiet place, and previewing this stuff from Lee has me all JACKED UP! Can’t wait to pick it up and share with my Worship Team!
I think it’s great when communities write their own music. It’s been huge for our church to have lead worshippers singing things that they wrote. It makes it real and timely. Way to go!
This album kicks some major tail. Seriously.
Can’t wait to hear it. At Cross Point, we are all about the guitar driven worship!
any chance it’ll be available on iTunes? that’s about the only way i can get a hold of new music here in south africa…
I find it interesting that you said that you could believe that the music from this album would be used in other churches because when I listened to the clips on Lee’s virb I got the same thing. I’ll be like Hillsong, but NewSpring style! I don’t believe your prejudice, more enlightened perhaps.
